Posted by: justice on 12/28/2009 09:36 AM (Read: ) |
CAMPAIGN UPDATE SUMMARY
Senate Bill 5292 from last session is still active. Coalition partners have been meeting with legislators and other policymakers on a new approach for 2011.
Our strategy now:
1) Step up campaign activities to create support for introducing new bills in 2011
2) Build the numbers of supporters who will call and write legislators and write letters to the editor. 3) Build the campaign strength in terms of education and skill-building within our team.
EVENTS
3-Strikes Forum: Friday, January 15th 9AM – 5PM (partial day ok). Seattle University School of Law, 901 12th Avenue. Seattle Bar Association and Washington Defender Association are co-sponsoring a 3-Strikes forum at Seattle University. This is an important opportunity to learn and make connections.

- the felony conviction was in a Washington State court and the previously incarcerated person is no longer under the authority of DOC AND legal financial obligations are paid at least nine months out of ever year
But, the 2009 State of Washington Voter's Pamphlet contains ERRONEOUS INFORMATION. The Secretary of State has asked for feedback on the changed Voter's Pamphlet. Please join us to provide feedback about this error!
